The NAMS Group wishes to remind you that we are offering our introductory asset management courses at three stages throughout this year, including this February, as follows:

• Introduction to Asset Management - Hamilton June and:
• Writing and updating asset/activity management plans – Hamilton in June

Details on these seminars are listed below.

The seminars provide training based upon the NAMS series of guidelines, and their application to asset/activity management planning. The seminars are a mixture of presentations and interactive workshops. Examples from current best practice, including recently audited plans, will be reviewed and discussed. The relationship and integration between asset planning and long-term planning for organisations operating under the provisions of the Local Government Act 2002 will also be discussed.

Who should attend? These courses provide an excellent introduction for those new to asset management and/or asset management plans and are also suited to those currently working in the sector who are updating or developing new asset management plans and want to know what current industry best practice is. The two one-day seminars have been designed to be complimentary to each other and we offer a good discount for people who register for the two days at the one venue. We also now offer a discount to organisations who register more than one attendee at a seminar.

Theses courses will be repeated again in September (Christchurch), but now is the ideal opportunity to send staff who have just started with your organisation or people who are involved finalising asset management plans for adoption as part of the 2009 LTCCP.

These courses provide part of the theory component for the new National Diploma Infrastructure Asset Management and are therefore offered to enrolled students at a discounted rate- (please see www.infratrain.co.nz for more information on the Diploma).
