Property Assets Officer - South Taranaki

Full Time - 40 Hours per week

Wedged between Mt Taranaki’s majestic cone and the rugged coastline of the Tasman Sea, South Taranaki is rich in art, culture, nature and wildlife. To keep our district running the best we can, we are searching for more talented and passionate people to join our team. Right now we are looking for a unique individual to join us as Property Assets Officer, a position that will become part of the Corporate Services Group.

This is a position of responsibility with an emphasis on completing condition assessments for all Council properties and developing maintenance plans and programmes to maintain properties in a fit for purpose condition. The role includes co-ordination of planned maintenance and renewal programmes and ensuring legislative requirements are met. This role will also contribute to the preparation of Asset Management Plans for community facilities, libraries and sundry properties.

This positon will suit a person who has some get up and go preferably with qualifications and experience in the Building Trade or Property Asset Management. The ability to demonstrate knowledge of the Building Code and related legislation and Workplace Health and Safety, particularly relating to asbestos will be advantageous, as will previous technical experience.

The ideal applicant will display self-motivation with the ability to work under pressure, will be well organised and able to prioritise and manage deadlines. A positive attitude, great people skills, a willingness to work in a busy team environment and a sound ability with written and oral communication is also required, but the most important criteria is to have the passion, potential and drive to do the job. A clean valid NZ driver’s licence is required as is a sound knowledge and experience in the Microsoft Office suite in particular Excel.
